1st version: The AIDS/HIV crisis was a shock to the whole world, however the reactions to it varied for each region. These differences are even evident in the historic AIDS Quilt, where the raw reactions of people from different backgrounds are showcased. This paper focuses on the effect the cultural values of Greece, Uganda, and Brazil had on the stigmas, attitudes, and policies surrounding AIDS/HIV in those countries. By studying these effects, one can realize the importance of taking culture into consideration when evaluating the responses to this tragedy in any nation.

This paper analyzes the effect the cultural values of Greece, Uganda, and Brazil had on the stigmas, attitudes, and policies surrounding AIDS/HIV in those countries. By studying these effects, one can realize the importance of taking culture into consideration when evaluating the responses to this tragedy in any nation.
